Office building at St. Olavs Hospital

Challenges and solutions
The new office building at St. Olavs Hospital used to be the old kitchen. The goal was to develop stronger cooperation between the hospital and the Faculty of Medicine at the university by creating shared office premises for senior management. While laying the foundations for a modern workplace, the 1930s building has been rebuilt and furnished with respect for history. The architecture and the art in the building has also set the stage for the choice of colors and materials.

EFG HOV + DOKKA worked closely with the client and architect / interior designer throughout the project. User groups from St. Olavs Hospital have participated in the process. Zones and features: reception area, board / press room, meeting rooms, video conferencing rooms, conference rooms, social zones and workplaces in cellular offices and multi-man offices.

St. Olavs Hospital received the Innovation Award for Universal Design. The jury's reasoning was that "they have succeeded in putting the user in the center of absolutely everything. Everything from the surroundings to the building mass, down to the individual bedpost has been designed with the interests of the patient, relatives, employees and students in mind.
