An exciting story about old and new Challenge and solution After more than 140 years as a house of prayer, the historic building in Larvik was ready to gather people for new purposes. Tomta Eiendom, which now owns the premises, dedicated the design agency Nordic State to develop everything from name, brand platform and visual identity to interior design. The venue resumed as restaurant Bedehuset Food and Drink in the summer of 2016.Bedehuset consists of a grand hall on the ground floor with lounge, bar and dining areas. In the gallery on the secondnd floor there are more sheltered zones that can also be used for gatherings such as confirmations and weddings."The idea behind the design was about to embracing the story of the house. Colours and material choices are untraditional, but necessary to create the urban, popular environment we wanted," says creative leader Guro Ringheim Bakke, Nordic State.EFG HOV + DOKKA has supplied most furniture and decor in the restaurant, lounge, bar and dining areas. The interior is warm and modern, with materials and colours in petroleum green, brass, black and concrete.
